My name is Tyler.

I am in love with my wife of 8 years.   I am the father of a beautiful little girl and an awesome little boy.   I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and currently reside in just outside of Baltimore, Maryland.

I love people, life and the arts – and the ability to blend all three with what I do.

I love to tell stories.

I would consider myself a documentary wedding photographer.   While I love the ability to share life stories with someone, once they leave the room, the story is no longer told.   That’s the special thing about photography.   They say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.”   I am thrilled to be able to capture and re-tell the story of your big day in a way that will last far beyond the short time we are in the same room.

I love what I do.

One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given was, “Figure out what you love to do, and find a way to make a living with it.”

I have always had a love for music - both performing and composing.   For the past 9 years, I have taught music to children and adolescents, using music I composed and arranged for their choirs, percussion ensembles, musical groups, hand bell ensembles and most recently, musical theatre.   The ability to pass on my love for music and expose my students to musical styles in ways that make it relevant to them is very rewarding.

I have always loved taking pictures!   Whether it is a sunset on Lake Michigan or a family vacation to Bethany Beach, I love telling the story through the lens of my camera.   I also have this uncontrollable desire to make people happy.   I absolutely love being around others when they are enjoying life.   I guess that is why I love what I do so much – I get to be around people on one of the happiest days of their life, and help tell the story in a way that they will be able to remember the details of their special day for years to come.
